Blog & News

As London Fashion Week came round for yet another season, we couldn't help but get excited to see all the fab new trends! We were so looking forward to a busy weekend filled with style spotting, catwalk shows and relying on some super cool London hangs to get us through a manic few days.

First up we headed to the brand new location of Brewer Street Car Park; previously held at the beautiful grounds of Somerset House, we didn't know what to expect when we heard the main show space was now in a car park. What were we going to do without the white wash buildings of Somerset House as the backdrop for our style spotting images?

Jumping off the tube at Green Park and walking the short eight minutes to Brewer Street (thank goodness for Google Maps) we took to the crowded streets bursting with the fashion elite being papped by everyone from The New York Standard to Look magazine - but most importantly, the Mark Hill social channels! Chatting away to some of our favourite bloggers we snapped some killer hair trends for you guys to see.

Catching up with our Marbella girls Crave Green Velvet and Whitney’s Wonderland, we couldn’t take our eyes of Whit’s asymmetrical French plait she created using the Wonder Spray, French plaits are set to be huge for Autumn/Winter. Eva of Glamazon Blog was absolutely killing it with her long loose curls; this style can easily be recreated using the Ecllipse Wand by taking the plate right to the root leaving you with these fab bouncy waves. But the must-have style for AW/15 was rocked by Tres Monikh, A Fashion Fix and My Bubba and Me - the new ‘It’ choppy bob. Making a comeback for the millionth time, the bob can be seen on the likes of Alexa Chung, Sienna Miller and even Kim Kardashian for a little while! Now the one show we couldn't wait for was Henry Holland's collection - House of Holland.

Set at the Collins Theatre in Islington, we entered the three-tiered building overlooking the catwalk below. With road markings as the runway and sand outlining the sides, there in the FROW were Henry's BFF's Daisy Lowe, Alexa Chung, Nick Grimshaw and Nicola Harding.

Opening the show was rapper Lady Leshurr with Brush Your Teeth, dressed head to toe in a quirky tropical print with matching bucket hat giving us the first sight of what was to come. As the lights dimmed down, the catwalk began.

One by one the models weaved down the catwalk and out round the audience as uplifting house beats filled the venue. We saw an array of clashing prints from patchwork primary colours mixed with leopard print to bold stripes. Looks were also accessoried with equally as clashing football socks, orange tinted Deidre sunglasses and feather boots. Henry definitely didn’t disappoint, the collection was absolutely mental but exactly what we expected from such an eccentric! Between dashing in and out of cool eateries such as Soho Grand and saving our tired feet over at The Apmt, London Fashion Week was as hectic and manic as ever – but would it ever stop us reporting to our MH followers? I don’t think so!

We’ve got some seriously exciting plans for next season, so stay tuned and get following us on social so you don’t miss a thing!
