Jealous of Kim K’s XL locks? Don’t be! Cos thanks to our top tricks, you can add inches and achieve that butt-grazing look in no time!
1) TRIM IT
Having a trim may sound counterproductive, but trust us on this one! Although it won’t magically transform you into Rapunzel, heading to the salon will prevent any split ends from working their way up strands, which means that you won’t be needing a drastic chop any time soon!
2) EAT SMART
Getting enough protein (eggs and meat), iron (spinach and quinoa), omega 3s (salmon and mackerel) and vitamin A (carrots and sweet potato) can help encourage stronger, shinier and longer locks! 3) DON’T SKIP CONDITIONER
Not only does conditioner help to replace and protect proteins and lipids, but it also helps to seal the cuticle. And once the cuticle is sealed, you’re less prone to damage and breakage. Again, this won’t magically give you XL locks, but it means you won’t be needing any drastic haircuts to eliminate split strands.
4) DON’T TOWEL DRY
It’s time to ditch towel drying! Why? Because unbeknown to many of us, rubbing locks against woven fibers encourages breakage and damage, meaning you’ll need more trips to the salon!
But fear not, this doesn’t mean you’ve got to stand around waiting for those locks to drip dry… just buy yourself a decent microfiber turban and you’re all set! Not only will this reduce friction, but since it absorbs water much quicker than a normal towel, you’ll be cutting down on blow drying time and keeping those cuticles super-smooth!
